Home Minister Amit Shah arrives in Agartala, to address poll rallies in Tripura, Manipur on Monday

Union Home Minister Amit Shah landed at the Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport in Agartala on a special flight at 9 pm on Sunday. Thereafter, the senior BJP leader checked into a private hotel on the outskirts of the city where he would be staying the night. He is scheduled to address poll rallies in Tripura and Manipur on Monday.

Speaking to indianexpress.com, a senior party leader said Shah would fly to Kumarghat in North Tripura district on Monday morning, where he is scheduled to address a major poll rally.

Kumarghat comes under the East Tripura Parliamentary constituency, which is reserved for tribal candidates.

He would, thereafter, fly to Imphal to address another election rally. The Union home minister would also be meeting Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, and Manipur BJP president A Sharda Devi, among other party leaders.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a rally at the Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala on April 17.

Tripura has two Parliamentary constituencies – West Tripura and East Tripura. Voting for the first seat would be held on April 19 and the second seat on April 26.
